Services
DC Dental offers a wide array of services to ensure you have a healthy and beautiful smile. For our younger patients, we employ a board-certified pedodontist, specializing in dental health for children as young as three years old. Below is information about some of our more common procedures.
A dental extraction (also referred to as exodontia) is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to prevent restoration. Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as are extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment. If you have teeth causing these kind of issues, call us today to schedule an appointment to have them evaluated by one of our experienced dentists!
Endodontic therapy (Root Canal) is a sequence of treatments for the pulp of a tooth, which results in the elimination of infection and protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. Root canals and their associated pulp chamber are the physical hollows within a tooth that are naturally inhabited by nerve tissue, blood vessels and other cellular entities. Endodontic therapy involves the removal of these structures, the subsequent cleaning, shaping, and decontamination of the hollows with tiny files and irrigating solutions, and the obturation (filling) of the decontaminated canals with an inert filling such as gutta percha and typically a eugenol-based cement.
A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. They are typically bonded to the tooth using dental cement. Crowns can be made from many materials, often using indirect methods. Crowns are used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth.
Teeth cleaning (prophylaxis) by a dental hygienist removes tartar (mineralized plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine tooth brushing. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling, tooth polishing and debridement (if too much tartar has accumulated). This involves the use of various instruments or devices to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth. Good oral hygiene helps to prevent cavities, tartar build-up, and gum disease. Call us today to schedule your biannual cleaning!
Your lifestyle and the aging process can stain and darken your teeth. Many things we do on a regular basis can contribute to stained teeth, such as drinking coffee, tea, dark soda, red wine and smoking. Whitening treatments can get your smile looking its best. Non-professional procedures and clinically unproven teeth whitening tips can often lead to unsatisfactory results. You should look for a whitening procedure that is fast and convenient, long lasting, and performed by a dentist. Call us today to schedule an appointment, we would love to talk with you about the benefits of state-of-the-art teeth whitening procedures!
Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, which are supported by surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable, however, there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants. Call us today to schedule an appointment to see whether you are a good candidate for full or partial dentures.
In dentistry, a filling is an indirect restoration consisting of a solid substance (as gold or porcelain) fitted to a cavity in a tooth and cemented into place. Similarly, an onlay works like a filling, except that it extends to replace a cusp.
Where We Deliver
We believe that improving a patient's smile should be conservative and non-invasive, and that it must have a positive impact on overall appearance and self-confidence. Not everyone is born with a perfect smile or if they did, circumstances may not have allowed them to maintain what they had.
Priorities may have changed in life and taken its toll on a nice smile. Our skillful and talented execution combined with sincere effort and intelligent direction has placed us in a position to be able to take advantage of the many advances in dentistry.
